This is a must for every pregnant lady. I was going to sessions then found out I was pregnant. Cherry moved me into her specialist pregnancy sessions.
After two breach deliveries and being told this is how I would always carry I had a head down and normal delivery! Recovery was a lot quicker too! I can’t recommend The Pilates Studio Glossop enough.

Modern Pilates is an up-to-date and scientific approach to Pilates, it pays specific attention to functional movement patterns that relate to the postural muscles of our body. Good posture is important for everybody, male and female, but never more so during and after pregnancy.
Our prenatal classes can educate about good posture and healthy habits for sitting, standing and lifting during your pregnancy. It can help relieve the stresses and strains that pregnancy puts on our joints, ligaments and spine.
The class focuses on pregnancy-specific core stability and deep stabilizing muscles, literally working from the inside out. This is essential in pregnancy as it helps support not only the growing baby but also the spine and joints, balancing the body, developing alignment and educating mum how to stay in shape as well as creating a strong healthy body to see you through your pregnancy and the birth of your baby.
I offer small group Modern Pilates and birth preparation classes on Tuesday evenings at 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm
We have a maximum of 5 in each class and have midwife Helen Howard visiting us during the course. Courses run from four to 8 weeks depending on your stage of pregnancy.
You can also book private fitness or pilates sessions at a time to suit you, or work with a friend or even your partner to spread the cost and keep you motivated!

When I found out I was pregnant again at the end of October last year it was with mixed emotions. At 27 weeks pregnant with my first child I developed Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD), a condition that caused excessive movement of my pelvis, meaning that I was in excruciating pain.
I couldn’t walk from 30 weeks and was confined to the house for the end of my pregnancy. The pain continued, in degrees, for over a year after my son was born.
This time round I hoped pilates would help and I joined The Pilates Studio at 16 weeks pregnant. One week later, after not being able to walk for the entire weekend, I was at the hospital. My SPD was back and I was informed by the doctor what my course of treatment would be: support belt, compression socks, crutches, blood thinners to ward off blood clots and possibly a wheelchair if needed.
I have a toddler and my husband has his own business – not being able to walk really wasn’t an option. I am now 36 weeks pregnant and haven’t worn my support belt for over three months! I have no idea what Cherry does at the classes to make my pregnant body work effectively but…well, it does!
The classes are varied and challenging but conversely relaxing and enjoyable. Unconsciously, I find myself doing some of the exercises out of the class. Cherry has given me more than a pain free pregnancy.
Her classes have enabled me to be a mother to my son, care for him, play with him and know that I’ll continue being able to do so once my daughter is born. (taken from our Facebook page 18/06/2014)
