Who is Modern Pilates For?
Everybody! Modern Pilates is recommended by Health Professionals for those recovering from back problems, weak abdominals (core stability), stress incontinence and poor posture.
Modern Pilates is an ideal Clinical form of rehabilitation. There are specialist classes for the older adult and for those with special needs such as MS, Parkinsons Disease,hip, knee replacements and arthritis (see attached timetable).
Modern Pilates is also an ideal additional type of exercise for all sports including runners, advanced fitness enthusiasts and dancers who will benefit from increased flexibility and core stability. ask about our Equestrian biased class.
Beginner’s classes are suitable for post natal mums and will help increase function and repair of the pelvic floor along with suitable exercises for the mid section. Tension and muscle imbalance can occur from both breast and bottle-feeding; as it is easy to adapt poor posture when new mothers are stressed and tired. Modern Pilates will not only exercise all the right muscles but will give mum that time out she deserves. (See timetable)
Normal Modern Pilates classes are ideal for pregnant mums up to 20 weeks of pregnancy. We offer specialist classes for pre and postnatal mums who can continue to work with a specialist tutor throughout the whole of their pregnancy.
